Electrostatic Painting for Your Iron Fencing Project

When you are planning an iron fencing project, an important aspect of the entire project are maintenance questions such as: How well will the factory applied finish hold up to the weather? What is the life expectancy of the original finish? Empire Fencing uses electrostatic coatings and paints on all of its iron fencing and tennis fencing projects. Electrostatic painting is the best, most efficient, and longest lasting method of coating a fencing project.

How Electrostatic Painting Works

The truism that opposites attract is used in practice when it comes to electrostatic painting. If you have ever had to paint a small fence by hand or with a spray gun, you understand how messy, wasteful and time-consuming the process is. Imagine if you could just have the paint “stick” to the fence when you applied it, no missed spots, runs, drips, overspray or mess! That is the beauty of electrostatic painting.

The concept behind the process is simple: Create a negative charge on the fence and a positive charge in the paint or coating. When you spray the paint on the fence, it sticks to every nook and cranny, with little overspray, creating a void-free paint job that looks beautiful. While the concept is simple, the practice is much more involved. The process requires highly specialized equipment that takes a skilled person to operate correctly.

Finishes Applied in Our Warehouse, Unlimited Color Selection

Most of the electrostatic painting process is completed in our warehouse. Empire has a large enough facility to handle any size project; we do all of our finishing in-house, we do not use any subcontractors. Our shop uses only industrial grade paint products. The first step in the process is to apply an epoxy-based primer, sealing the steel against penetration and damage from the sometimes harsh Arizona weather.

The factory is environmentally controlled, and the finishes are applied perfectly to the fence. A correctly applied electrostatic finish will last for many years and require minimal maintenance. If your fencing installation requires on-site welding, Empire also can touch-up and apply electrostatic finishes on site. And with our process, we offer you unlimited color options! When you bring your creative fencing project to us, we will make it a reality. Our experience in the fencing industry guarantees you a perfect finish.
